TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Advocacy team of presidential hopeful Prabowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasa reported the Jakarta General Elections Commission (KPU) to the Election Organization Ethics Council (DKPP) for not investigating all polling stations (TPS) in their region as recommended by the Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu).
"There are more than 200,000 illegal voters whose votes are actually not valid," said Muhammad Taufik, member of Prabowo-Hatta advocacy team on Monday, July 21, 2014.
These illegal voters are those who voted using only an ID card during election day. "But the address is not in accordance with the TPS where they voted," Taufik argued. He hoped that the DKPP would immediately process the report and took actions against the Jakarta KPU.
Previously, on July 12, Prabowo team reported alleged irregularities and violations to the Jakarta Bawaslu in five areas in Jakarta and demanded re-election in 5,841 polling stations.
Based on vote recapitulation by the Jakarta KPU, Joko Widodo-Jusuf Kalla wins with 2,859,894 votes or 53.079 percent while Prabowo-Hatta gains 2,528,064 votes or 46.920 percent.
The result of the election result plenary meeting at provincial level was decided on Sunday. Witnesses from the Prabowo-Hatta ticket walked out from the meeting and asked the meeting to be delayed until verification of data of voters in 5,841 TPS is done. However, the meeting continued to be carried out and was supervised by witnesses from the Jokowi-JK ticket and the Bawaslu.
