TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Hundreds of people from the National Committee for Palestinian People and the Reform Movement gathered around Hotel Indonesia (HI) roundabout as an act of solidarity on Friday at 13.00 p.m., causing heavy traffic in the area.
They prayed together for the independence of Palestine and condemned Israel's military aggression. Almost all of the people gathered wore white clothes.
Several people wearing headband with "Save Palestine" written on it distributed small Palestinian falgs and flyers titled "Salam Palestina" that lists the actions done by the National Committee for Palestinian People. A banner reads "Save Gaza" with images of victims of the attacks was also unfurled in along the street in front of HI Roundabout police station.
"Are we going to stay silent while our brothers in Palestine are being massacred?" shouted the rally coordinator from on top of a truck while the others screamed, "Palestine! Palestine! Independent!"
