TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The names of 36,330 student applicants, out of a total 612,000 students, for the Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) have been erased because they were listed twice, according to city Education Agency head Lasro Marbun, as reported by Antara News.
“We rechecked and verified all of the applicants’ data. So this year, 575,670 students will receive educational support from the city administration,” Lasro said.
He added that the data had been sent to the Jakarta Financial Management Body (BPKD) to disburse a total of Rp723 billion (US$60.4 million) for the recipients. “Hopefully it will be disbursed as soon as possible.”
With the card, elementary school students will receive Rp180,000 per month from the city administration for educational support, junior high school students Rp210,000, while senior high school and vocational high school students will get Rp240,000.
The money can be used to buy uniforms, shoes, school books and for transportation to school.
