TEMPO.CO, London - Maria Sharapova has just claimed her way to the fourth round of 2014 Grand Slam Wimbledon. But that is not all about the 27-year-old Russian tennis player.
The French Open winner is also opening a pop-up shop in a corner of Wimbledon that serves self-branded sweets named 'Sugarpova'.
"It makes me happy, makes me smile. I enjoy seeing my fans for a little bit of time there, see that pops in," she said as quoted by Reuters.
Sharapova started her candy business 'Sugarpova' in 2012 with her own money and considered temporarily changing her surname to Sugarpova during the US Open last year for a promotion mission. Her action, however, has garnered criticism from The National Obesity Forum for using her role model status to promote unhealthy sugary eating.
