TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Gamal Sinurat, Chief of the Jakarta Spatial Planning Agency, said that the absence of an air space regulation hampers monorail project property planning.
According to Gamal, Jakarta Monorail (JM) wants to build commercial areas on stations and depots located above monorail pillars. "Several stations and depots have green line under them, there is no regulation on that," he said on Monday, June 2, 2014.
The Jakarta provincial government has held talks regarding the regulation, but there has been no decision. Legal Bureau of the Jakarta Regional Government is still assessing the regulation to prevent illegal construction.
PT JM plans to build commercial areas on monorail depots and stations to earn more income other than selling tickets.
