TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Museum of Records (MURI) Chief, Jaya Suprana, along with the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry will once again hold A-Thousand-Massage-Therapist event in Bali next year. "This is one of the events to improve the Indonesian tourism industry by attracting international travelers," said Jaya earlier today.
He said the event, as a part of the "Wonderful Adventure Indonesia: Asia Pacific Hash 2014 Initiative" program, has successfully broken the relaxation record. On Friday, it had brought in 1,000 therapists to massage 1,000 tourists at Sanur beach, Bali. "It will be held again next year with a larger number. [There will be] 1,500 massage therapists," he said.
The even was not merely a collaboration with the government. It was also supported by all traditional massage institutes in Indonesia. The world-record breaking has made Bali one of the places that is "stress-free".
"A similar event was held in July last year in Bangkok, Thailand, with 641 massage therapists [giving massage] for 12 minutes."
