TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Commission for Children Protection (Komnas PA) urged the Jakarta administration to realize the Capital to be a child-friendly city. Head of the Komnas PA, Arist Merdeka Sirait, said on Monday that North Jakarta is the only part of the city implementing the program.
Arist explained that a child-friendly city would allow establishing rapid response team at the basic community association (RT) and the next highest administrative unit (RW) levels, starting from July 23 in Tugu Village, North Jakarta. The rapid response team is aimed at monitoring crimes against children at schools, residential and in public.
"We will assemble rapid response teams at 114 RT because North Jakarta is implementing child-friendly city. The Mayor of North Jakarta has agreed on this," he said.
