TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned airport services company, PT Angkasa Pura II, is preparing to raise airport tax or passenger service charge in five airports under its management; Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Jakarta, Jambi's Sultan Taha, Kuala Namu in Deli Serdang, Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport in Pekanbaru, and Raja Haji Fisabilillah in Tanjung Pinang.
Angkasa Pura II's president director Tri S. Sunoko said the company plans to raise passenger service charges in airports that have been repaired. "After we upgrade our services, we will propose the raise. So its is cost against revenue," he said in Jambi yesterday.
For the Soekarno-Hatta airport, the raise will only be applied at Terminal 3, which is currently being expanded. "As soon as the construction is completed, we weill definitely propose a raise," Tri said.
Minister of Transportation Evert Erenst Mangindaan previously said the ministry is reviewing the plan to increase airport tax at Angkasa Pura II's airports. "We will make a decision this month," the minister said.
