TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has determined Hadi Purnomo, Chairman of the Supreme Audit Agency, as a suspect in relation to his position as the Ministry of Finance's director general for tax for the 2002 to 2004 period. Hadi allegedly altered the decision that caused Bank Central Asia to cancel a Rp 375 billion tax money deposit.
"KPK found accurate evidence, and after a discussion [KPK] determined Hadi Purnomo as a suspect," said KPK chief Abraham Samad on Monday, April 21, 2014.
Hadi is said to violate Article 2 (1) and/or Article 3 of Law No. 31/1999 on Corruption. "Hadi Purnomo abused his authority and accepted all objections from BCA," said Abraham.
KPK deputy chief Bambang Widjojanto said that BCA had voiced its objection on non-performing loan transaction tax of Rp5.7 trillion back in 1999. “The total amount of state loss is Rp375 billion." he said.
