TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A group of robbers stole goods worth hundreds of millions rupiah from a luxurious house in Pondoh Indah, South Jakarta yesterday.
South Jakarta Police spokesman Commr. Aswin confirmed the report, which was filed by the owner of the house. The group of robbers consisted of four men and drove a silver-colored car.
"They [the robbers] said to have already had an appointment with the owner of the house," Aswin said.
The men managed to break into the house after Parni, the housekeeper, believed what she had been told.
As predicted, Parni and another housekeeper were then handcuffed and put at the back of the house by the robbers.
Aswin said the robbers then rampaged at the house for an hour before escaping with a safety box containing US$18,000, commercial papers, jewelry, watches and computer tablets.
"The case is being investigated in Kebayoran Lama police station," Aswin said, adding that three witnessed - the owner of the house and two housekeepers - have been questioned.
