Jokowi Must Manage Governor and Presidential Candidate Schedules

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Political and public policy observer Andrinof Chaniago said Jakarta governor Joko Widodo must manage his time properly regarding his position as a governor and presidential candidate.
“In addition to his job as a governor, Jokowi is now also bound to political tasks. He has to be able to arrange his schedules so both can run in balance,” said Andrinof on Tuesday.
Andrinof advised Jokowi to split his working time to two parts. From morning to afternoon, Jokowi can focus on his job as the governor, while in the evening, Jokowi can do his job as presidential candidate.
Andrinof opined Jokowi so far had managed his schedule well. His meeting with Malaysian ambassador Mahatir Mohamad yesterday, for example, was proper as it was conducted in the evening.
“I don’t think there will be any problem if he can manage his time well. Jokowi cannot focus only one thing. He has to be able to handle both of his jobs,” said Andrinof.
Political observer Ari Dwipayanan also said Jokowi must be able to arrange his time because his jobs as a governor and presidential candidate are both important.
