TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Freddie Mercury biopic on-the-making hits another bummer when director Dexter Fletcher decided to leave the project. Dexter left the film production as he sensed clashes of principle and creative idea while working on the script of the legendary vocalist.
Variaty wrote that Graham King (producer) and Fletcher have changed the script for a couple of times, in which Dexter decided to leave. This is the second time that the movie has lost its central figure. Prior to Dexter's leaving, lead actor Sacha Baron Cohen stepped out of the project.
Queen's drummer Roger Taylor, however, cited that Cohen's leaving the project might serve its purpose well as the actor is too funny to play Mercury. The movie itself is scheduled to begin production on April, with speculations began rising up about the replacements of Dexter and Cohen.
Recent strings of rumor has it that Daniel "Harry Potter" Radcliffe is set to take on the hot seat as the leading actor, a notion that the British actor has vividly denied.
