TEMPO.CO, Jember - Once the inspection dossier is handed over to the Jember District Attorney's Office, Wildan Yani Ashari--the man who hacked the site of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, will be tried. The 20-year-old may face six years in prison and may have to pay billions of rupiah in fines.
In the arrest warrant documents, Wildan is charged with violating Law No.36/1999 on Telecommunications. He is also charged with violating a series of articles in Law No.11/2008 on Information and Electronic Transactions that may land him in prison for six to 10 years and a fine of Rp5 billion.
Wildan's father Ali Jakfar said his son has yet to have an attorney or lawyer. "I'm still consulting with him and the family to decide which lawyer we want to represent him in court," he said briefly.
Jember District Attorney's Office has formed a team of prosecutors. The team consists of three prosecutors, Mujiarto, SH; Eko Cahyono, SH; and Lusiana, SH.
"We'll try to complete it soon and submit it to court," said Aries Surya, head of the Jember District Attorney.
