Democrat Officers Admit to Receiving Money Over Anas
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Diana Maringka, former Democrat Party Southeast Minahasa Regency Branch Leadership Board (DPC) chairman, and ten other party administrators on Thursday have confessed detrimental to Democrat Party Chairman Anas Urbaningrum. Diana and ten others admitted to having received money in return for their votes toward Anas during the Democrat Party Congress in Bandung in 2010.
Diana claimed that she and ten other Democrat branch chairmen in North Sulawesi were each given Rp100 million and BlackBerries. “I’m ready to take a lie detector test to prove that what I’m saying is true,” Diana told TEMPO.
That ‘commission’, according to Diana, was paid in installments in rupiah and US dollar currencies. The first installment was Rp30 million, followed by US$2,000 and US$5,000 on the day of the election. This statement corroborated the testimony given by former Democrat Party treasurer Muhammad Nazaruddin about the money politics in the Bandung congress.
