  • TEMPO.CO, Tangerang - Tangerang Deputy Mayor Sachrudin said the construction of the 15.2-kilometer Cengkareng-Batuceper-Kunciran toll road had reached 50 percent.

“It was started in 2016 and will be completed in 2020,” Sachrudin said in Tangerang, Thursday, November 8.

The toll road is expected to reduce the traffic density at the Jakarta Outing Ring Road (JORR). The traffic volume is expected to reach 41,514 vehicles per day.

Sachrudin said that the toll road is also connected with the Jakarta-Tangerang-Kunciran-Serpong and Prof. Dr. Soedijatmo toll road.

The Cengkareng-Batu Ceper-Kunciran toll road consists of 4 sections with the construction costs reaching Rp1.34 trillion and the total investments at Rp3.507 trillion.

Sachrudin said his office had reported the progress of the toll road project to the Banten Governor Wahidin Halim. “We also convey to Governor Wahidin the obstacles faced by a number of national projects in Tangerang,” he added.

The governor called on every region to be able to inventory the obstacles in the execution of national strategic projects in each region.

“Report the progress, what obstacles that have been faced. I will report it to the president as the achievement that has been realized,” Wahidin said.

Besides the Cengkareng-Kunciran toll road, other national projects currently running in Tangerang City include the expansion of the Soekarno-Hatta Airport area, the airport train lines, and the Waste Power Plant (PLTSA) project.
