TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) prosecutor charged Setya Novanto’s nephew, Irvanto Hendra Pambudi Cahyo, with 12 years in prison and a fine of Rp1 billion with a subsidiary of 6 months in prison. The prosecutor believed that the former Director of PT Murakabi Sejahtera was involved in the corruption of the e-KTP project.
“We conclude that the defendant has been legally proven to have committed a criminal act of corruption,” KPK prosecutor Wawan Yunarwanto said during the indictment reading at the Jakarta Corruption Court on Tuesday, November 6.
According to the prosecutor, Irvanto was proven to intervene in the auction process of the e-KTP project by winning a certain company which related to Andi Agustinus Narogong's businesses.
The meeting also created a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the preparation of Self Estimated Prices (HPS). The HPS is arranged and determined without going through a survey based on market price data, so there is a markup or overprice.
The prosecutor said that Irvanto also received money several times from Johannes Marliem as the provider of the L-1 brand biometric product for Setya Novanto, totaling US$3,5 million.
The prosecutor stated that the money was a 5 percent fee to facilitate the management of the e-KTP budget. According to the prosecutor, in addition to enriching Setya Novanto, Irvanto's action has enriched a number of people and corporations, as well as causing the state loss of Rp2,3 trillion.
In its deliberation, the prosecutor considered Irvanto’s action did not support the government's effort to eradicate corruption. The prosecutor considered Irvanto’s action also had a massive impact which is still felt today since it is related to national population data management.
