10 Indonesians Got Through to the Next Round of 2018 All England

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Ten Indonesians will progress to the second phase of the 2018 All England Badminton tatch that is held at Birmingham, England on Wednesday, March 14.

Jonatan Christie and Tommy Sugiharto from the men’s singles managed to defeat Hong Kong’s Wong Wing Ki Vincent in two straight sets. Meanwhile, Tommy got through after defeating Anthony Sinisuka Ginting in straight sets.

In the women’s singles, Indonesia’s Fitriani also succeeded to pass through the next stage after defeating Malaysia’s Soniia Cheah in a suspenseful three-game match.

Three Indonesian representatives in the mixed doubles will also go through the second stage of the championship. They consist of Hafiz Faizal/Gloria Emanuele Widjaja which defeated Malaysia’s Tan Kian Meng/Lai Pei Jing.

Another Indonesian mixed double is Praveen Jordan/Debby Susanto that defeated Taiwan and Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir that defeated Russia’s three-time champion in a row Evgenij Drenim/Evgenia Dimova in straight sets that lasted for 23 minutes.

Indonesian representatives succeeding to the next round is Kevin Sanjaya Sukamulyo/Marcus Fernaldi Gideon and Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan from the men’s double.

Two Indonesians from the women’s double also succeeded to the next round of 2018 All England is Della Destiara Haris/Rizki Amelia Pradipta that defeated South Korea and Anggia Shitta Awanda/Ni Ketut Mahadewi Istarani after defeating representatives of the UK.
