TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head of Jakarta Water System Teguh Hendrawan confirmed of a levee breach at Pondok Labu, South Jakarta.
"It happened because there are buildings on the dike," said Teguh when contacted on Friday (19/8).
The water level as a result of the flooding reach around 80-100 cm.
"But the flood has started to recede," he said.
However, he added the task force had to evacuate for several residents and pumped the floodwater.
"We also use mobile pumping," he added.
Teguh also said the collapsed levee in Pondok Labu is the same as the incident in Pesanggrahan some time ago.
"It is also caused by illegal buildings on the embankment," he said.
@TMCPoldaMetro Twitter account also reported inundation of about 50-100 cm in Pondok Labu.
