Anies Baswedan Dismisses Transjakarta President Director

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan has dismissed Budi Kaliwono from his position as Transjakarta president director and replaced the latter with Agung Hendriadi.

Prior to his appointment, Agung Hendriadi was the operations and maintenance director of PT Mass Rapid Transportation (MRT).

Budi said he had been aware of his planned dismissal for three months but was barred from announcing it.

“According to the rules, only stakeholders are allowed to announce it,” said Budi.

Budi explained Anies Baswedan was among the stakeholders inking the decree of his dismissal. He said Anies made the decision as part of his endeavors to rejuvenate the capital's province-owned enterprises (BUMD).

“I have given my best for Transjakarta,” said Budi, adding that he planned to take a rest after spearheading Transjakarta for three years.
