Meikarta Graft; KPK Confiscate Rp100mn from Bekasi Regent`s Home

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) confiscated more than Rp100 million worth of cash during a search at the home of Bekasi Regent Neneng Hasanah Yasin. The search is related to the Meikarta bribery case the antigraft body is working on.
"During a search at the Bekasi Regent's house, the KPK found cash worth more than Rp100 million in rupiah and yuan," KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah said on Thursday, October 18.
Neneng's house is one of ten locations KPK searched in regards to the alleged bribery case in the Meikarta project. The KPK searched Neneng's house in Bekasi on Wednesday, October 17.

The KPK also searched the home of the Lippo Group operational director Billy Sindoro, the Bekasi Regent's office, the Bekasi Investment and One Stop Service (DPMPTSP) Office, and the Lippo Group's office. From the DPMPTSP Office, the KPK confiscated a number of documents related to the Meikarta project.
On Thursday, October 18, the KPK searched five other locations. They are the house of Lippo Group boss James Riady, the Trivium Terrace Apartment, the PUPR Office, The Bekasi Environmental Office, and the Bekasi District Fire Department.
The searches were conducted as part of an investigation of alleged bribery o the Meikarta project permit. The KPK suspects Neneng Regent and four Bekasi government officials of receiving Rp7 billion in bribes, taken from the Rp13 billion fee commitment for the project permit issuance.
The KPK suspects that the fee was given by Billy Sindoro; two Lippo Group consultants Taryudi and Fitra Djaja Purnama; as well as a Lippo Group employee Henry Jasmen.
