Airport Security Foils Japanese Man Attempt to Smuggle 52 Lizards

TEMPO.CO , Tangerang - A Japanese man was captured by Soekarno-Hatta Airport `s security officers for trying to smuggle 52 lizards. The 77-year old man put the live reptiles inside a suitcase.
"He was planning to take the lizards home to Japan on board a Garuda Indonesia plane flying to Tokyo," the airport's senior manager of aviation security Tommy Hadi Bawono said in Tangerang, Monday, September 18.
Tommy said that the smuggling attempt was discovered during an X-Ray scan.
The passenger and the lizards were immediately handed over to the airport's Quarantine Hall.
