Dede Idol, Former Indonesian Idol Finalist Arrested for Theft

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Dede Richo, an Indonesian Idol finalist in the 2008 season, was recently arrested by the police for theft in 10 different locations. He would often conduct his acts by breaking car windows to steal peoples’ belongings that are in the vehicle.
According to South Tangerang Police Chief AKBP Ferdy Irawan on Wednesday, September 19, “From what we discovered, they initially confessed of conducting their criminal acts at 10 locations.” Dede was arrested by police together with his elder sibling Deni Fredla Ochrels.
Police are still investigating the crimes done by the former Indonesian Idol finalist and suspects that there are other people involved in the theft.
“We are still investigating other locations and there might be other suspects that are joined in this criminal network,” said Ferdy.
Dede Richo was known as Dede Idol during Indonesian Idol`s fifth season in 2008. Where he shared the Idol stage together with 11 other finalists such as Aris, Gisella Anastasia, and Kunto Aji. Dede went under the public’s radar after leaving the competition.
