TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The management of SMAN 32 senior high school asserted it would dismiss students involved in brawl and persecution in Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta on Tuesday, September 4. In the incident, a student from SMA Muhammadiyah died due to allegedly being stabbed and attacked with acid water.

“If [the student] is proven to be innocent, we will let them. But otherwise, if they are found guilty by the police, we will send them to their family (drop-out),” said SMAN 32 Jakarta vice principle Sujoko when met at his office.

A student named AH (16 years old) from SMA Muhammadiyah was killed during a brawl on Saturday after being stabbed and also got attacked with acid water after then.

Sujoko said the police had summoned 26 students of SMAN 32 for an investigation related to the case. The students, he added, were picked from the schools for their direct or indirect involvement on the incident.

“Some students –that are indirectly involved– have been sent to home by the police,” said Sujoko, without further detailed the number.

Sujoko went on to say that based on the police investigation, several students were found brought sharp weapons during the brawl and thus the school would let the police take over the legal proceedings. “We are continuously coordinating with the police and education agency on the matter,” he said.
