TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned ferry operator ASDP Indonesia Ferry said the air transportation services in Lembar-Padangbai, Cabang Lembar and Cabang Kayangan that connected Lombok and Bali resumed to normal on Monday, August 6, following the temporary closure due to Lombok earthquake on Sunday.

“The electricity is now on and the port activity has been opened. The boats also begin to load passengers and vehicles. In Kayangan Port (Kayangan-Pototano), the service opens normally starting 05:30 am,” said ASDP Indonesia Ferry Corporate Secretary Imelda Alini on Monday morning, August 6.

Imelda said, no service and port activity was active in Lembar and Kayangan Port due to the tremor considering the 7 magnitude earthquake struck Lombok on Sunday evening blocked out the electricity.

However, the ship facilities in Lembar and Kayangan Port did not suffer significant damage. As many as 4 of 24 boats of ASDP docked in Kayangan Port, while there were 4 of 37 boats of Lembar-Padangbai route anchored in Lembar Port.

Furthermore, the sea operations along the route of Ketapang-Gilimanuk, Bali also returned to normal. The Lembar ASDP was currently monitoring all facilities in the port areas.

“We are sorry for the earthquake in NTB. And we apologize for the inconvenience due to the earthquake so the crossing services were halted temporarily. We hope all teams joined in the searching and evacuation process following the Lombok quake will work hard and deal with the accident,” Imelda said.
