TEMPO.CO, Kupang - The fire blazed savannah forest in Gili Lawa, Komodo National Park, Flores, East Nusa Tenggara, on late Wednesday, August 1.

“The incident occurs in Gili Lawa,” said the Komodo National Park operator head Budi Kurniawan, as quoted from Antara, Friday, August 3.

Budi received the report from a tour guide leader at around 18:15 local times. His staffers then immediately mobilized officers from Res Loh Sebita and Res Padar to put down the blaze.

The fire brigade of Komodo National Park from Labuan Bajo also rushed to the location at around 22:00 local times. “We ask the tour guide to record last visitors come from the hill where the fire breaks out and restrain them,” Budi said.
