TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chief of Central Java Regional Police Insp. Gen. Condro Kirono is planning to open the functional Solo-Salatiga toll road for the homecoming reverse flow starting on June 18, 2018. "We will open functional Solo-Salatiga toll road starting from the east part at 6:00 AM," Condro said on Saturday, June 16, 2018.
Condro notified the public to use the functional toll road to reduce traffic congestion on main thoroughfares. “The public should not all travel through Boyolali. Use functional toll roads that can reduce traffic,” Condro said.
On the second day of Eid Al-Fitr, Condro said that the number of homecomers have started to lower. Traffic congestion is now occurring in cities because many people are travelling to tourist spots and cemetery.
According to Condro, the number of traffic accidents in Central Java in this year’s Eid Al Fitr has decreased by 15 percent. The number of fatalities has also decrease by 12 percent. Until today, the police have recorded 12 people died and 16 people suffering from heavy injuries from 145 accidents. All the accidents occurred outside toll roads.
