The twelve karateka is the best result of the long process done by PB Forki (Great Organizer Sports Federation of Karate) in facing the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta-Palembang next August.
“KOI is targeting 1 gold medal for karate. But we hope to get three gold medals in the Asian Games event,” said Chairman of PB Forki Gatot Nurmantyo.
To prepare for it, Forki will soon send the 12 karatekas to the Asian karate championships in Jordan, in July.
In fact, specifically for the eight athletes who will be listed on the entry-by-name in the 2018 Asian Games, Forki will provide training programs in Japan for karateka in the category of kata and training camp in Egypt and Ukraine for karateka in the category of kumite.
