TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Asian Games Organizing Committee (INASGOC) has allocated 25,000 Asian Games 2018 tickets for students in Jakarta and Palembang, which is expected to participate in supporting the Asian multi-sports event from August 18 to September 2.
“We will work together with local administrations to distribute tickets for students with a total of 25,000 tickets,” said INASGOC Chairman Erick Thohir in Jakarta on Monday, June 11.
Furthermore, Erick said that the committee has agreed not to hand tickets free of charge following the change of regulation of buying tickets with ID cards in the name of security.
“Of course we expect to sell more tickets compared to the 2014 Incheon Asian Games, which saw 1.3 million tickets sold. But we have to map out each sales potential of each sports,” said Erick.
Other than the ticket sales for sporting events, Erick assured that the tickets for the opening ceremony will be sold out following the public’s interest that were shown for the past months and the capacity of the Gelora Bung Karno stadium seating capacity that will only be able to accommodate half of the stadium’s maximum seating capacity.
“There will be a stage that covers parts of the viewer’s grand stand,” said Erick.
Erick previously explained that the 2018 Asian Games tickets will be sold from a starting price of Rp30,000 with an average of Rp100,000.
