TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Organizing Committee of 2018 Asian Para Games (INAPGOC) receives 95 buses for wheelchair users from the ministries and state enterprises.
"We receive 80 buses from Transjakarta, five buses from state-owned transportation company PPD and 10 buses from the Ministry of Social Affairs," said INAPGOC Chairman Raja Sapta Oktohari on Thursday, June 7.
Okto said the buses were not installed with seat removal so that it could transport more wheelchair users.
"Initially, we only asked for one bus special for the disables from the Ministry of Social Affairs, but they can provide 10 buses," said Okto who is also the Chairman of the Indonesian Bicycle Sports Association (ISSI).
Okto asks for coordination and cooperation with the PPD company from the Ministry of State Owned Enterprises (SOEs).
Okto said there is no difference in the treatment of transport at the 2018 Asian Games and Asian Para Games, except the buses for wheelchair users.
"The travel duration is also the same, 34 minutes from the athlete's guesthouse to the arena of the match, as well as for the special lane on the highway," he said.
However, Okto expects there is no school day-off enforcement during the Asian Para Games following the mobilization of school students in every game in Jakarta on October 6-13.
"We will also simulate the mobilization of school students in Jakarta during the Asian Para Games trials on June 25-July 3," Okto said.
