TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Defendant of the electronic ID card (e-KTP) graft case Setya Novanto today, April 13, will read a defense plea at the Jakarta Corruption Court.
“Pak SN will read his own plea,” said Setya's attorney, Maqdir Ismail, Friday, April 13.
In the previous trial, the prosecutor of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) demanded Setya with 16 years in prison and a fine of Rp1 billion with a subsidiary of six months in prison.

In addition, the prosecutor demanded Setya to pay the replacement money in accordance with the money he received for US$7.4 million minus Rp5 billion that he had returned. Setya must pay the money to the KPK at least one month after the verdict.
Prosecutor also asked the judge to revoke the political rights of Setya, who was the former chairman of Golkar Party, for five years after serving his sentence.
On Thursday's trial, March 29, the prosecutor said Setya Novanto directly or indirectly intervened in the budgeting process and procurement of goods and services in the 2011-2013 e-KTP project.
