TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Executive Board of the All Indonesian Athletic Association (PB PASI) sent 13 athletes of the Asian Games 2018 national training camp (Pelatnas) to join training camp in the United States in April. Besides the training, they will also join a number of trial championships.
"There will be three competitions besides the training, including in Sacramento," Tigor said in Jakarta.
Tigor said 13 of the 16 athletes will depart on April 16. They are Atjong Tio Purwanto, Bayu Kartanegara, Eki Febri Ekawati, Eko Rimbawan, Emilia Nova, Fadlin Ahmad, Idan Fauzan Richsan, Muhammad Zohri, Maria Natalia Londa, Rio Maholtra, Sapwaturrahman, Suwandi Wijaya, and Yaspi Boby. “Agus Prayogo, Triyangsih, and Hendro will not participate."

Tigor said a coach from the US Harry Marra will accompany the training in St Barbara. The athletes will be accompanied by a team of coaches and eight officials from PB PASI, he added.
After the training, the 13 athletes will join the Korea Open championship in June. Agus Prayogo, Triyaningsih, and Hendro will attend a trial championship in other countries.
Agus and Triyaningsih will join Lanzhou Half Marathon in China in June. “For a 20 kilometers race walking," he said.
Meanwhile, Hendro will follow the Asian Race Walking Championship, a 20 km race walking, taking place in Nomi, Japan, in March. “Between 18 or 21 March," Tigor said.
Furthermore, Tigor said that Hendro also participated in the 50km world championship in Taishan, China, in May. When asked if there is a possibility for Hendro to join the 50 km race, he has not given a definitive answer.
Athletics is one of the most widely contested branches to gain the gold medal in the Asian Games 2018. But Indonesia is only targeting one gold medal from this branch.
