TEMPO.CO, Surabaya - A teacher at an Islamic elementary school in Surabaya, East Java, is suspected to have committed sexual abuse against dozens of his students. The suspect, MSH (29 years old), did the dissolute acts during his term as a homeroom teacher.

"The victims are massive. Some 65 students have reported. All of the victims are males," said East Java Police Chief Machfud Arifin at his office Thursday, February 22.

Machfud said the sexual abuse was done during 2013-2017 period while the suspect served as a homeroom teacher. The nasty act was done to students in the fourth and fifth grades on the swimming pool, on the bus during a school trip, and even in the classroom.

The suspect, he went on, did the abuse toward his students by squeezing the victim's genitals, ordering the victim to hold and squeeze the genitals of the suspect, and even showing the suspect's genital to the victim.

Upon his acts, the suspect will be charged with a severe law since the victims are underage and the abuse was done by an educator.

The case was revealed after a representative of student’s guardian reported to the East Java Police on February 20. The police investigated the report and the day after, the suspect was arrested and detained.

MSH admitted his act to the journalists, yet he denied to have done that to 65 children and said that the sexual abuse was only done against four children.
