TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Vice President Jusuf Kalla has asked entrepreneurs joined in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Indonesia (Kadin) to help the government build the country's economy.
"Kadin always expects cooperation of the government, whereas the government is the one that should request the cooperation of Kadin," Kalla said on Tuesday, June 28, 2016.
Kalla made the statement in response to the House of Representatives' approval of the Tax Amnesty Draft Bill.
The government had recently increased its tax revenue target up to five quadrillion Rupiah from tax repatriation of Indonesian entrepreneurs abroad.
Kalla also reminded Kadin that there is a 25 percent distribution for the government from the total profit raked by entrepreneurs paid through their taxes.
"As we know, there is a 25 percent share for the government, so if you make a profit, the government will take 25 percent of it," Kalla said.
