TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - Indonesia’s top Badminton mixed double pair Tontowi Ahmad and Liliyana Natsir has checked into the final of the 2016 Asian Badminton Championship after beating South Korean pair Shin Baek Cheol/Chae Yoo Jung 21016, 21-13 in 35 minutes in the Semi Final.
"We played with more composure and paid attention to the opponent’s playing pattern so we knew how face them,” Tantowi said after the match.
In the final, they are up against World Number 1 and their nemesis Zhang Nan and Zhao Yunlei from China.
The two pairs have met 17 times and Tantowi and Liliyana have won five times out of 12 meetings.
Their last meeting was in 2015 Korean Open, when the Indonesian pair was beaten 16-21, 15-21.
"We have to be more focused, keep composed and maintain our stamina,” Tantowi said.
