Police Ask for Patience over Mirna`s Case

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Metro Police’s Director of General Criminal Investigation, Senior Comr. Khrisna Murti, admitted that he could not confirm when would Wayan Mirna Salihin’s case be submitted to the prosecutor general. Jessica Kumala Wongso and several witnesses are currently being intensively interogated by the police.
“Be patient, it is not a game of puzzle,” said Khrisna, when being met at Jakarta Metro Police office, Thursday, February 4, 2016. Khrisna asked the people to be patient until the the investigation process ends. “We ask the people to wait and see of what whould happen in the court; we will submit what we have to the prosecutor general,” he said.
He said that his institution still focus their attention on discussing the materials they have, including on complimenting the evidence. The evidence would be used to strengthen the case of Wayan Mirna Salihin, 27 year-old, who died after drinking Vietnamese coffee at Olivier Cafe, Grand Indonesia Mall, January 6, 2016.
Mirna was meeting with her two friends, Jessica and Hani. Soon after he drank the coffee, Mirna felt nauseated even vomitted. Mirna experienced seizures and foaming at the mouth. Eventually, Mirna died at Abdi Waluyo Hospital, Central Jakarta.
Previously, he received oxygen first aid at a clinic at Grand Indonesia Mall. The autopsy of Indonesian Police’s Forensics Laboratory found cyanide in Mirna’s stomach fluid sample. Similar substance has also been found in the coffee he drank.
