TEMPO.CO, Kupang - Djami Rotui Lede, a senior public prosecutor at East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Attorney General’s Office (AGO), who is a suspect in the case of sale of state assets worth Rp5 billion, was forcibly picked up at his official residence for not fulfilling the summon by investigators.

“The prosecutor did not meet the call from investigators. We have to forcibly pick him up,” said NTT AGO spokesman Ridwan Angsar on Tuesday, January 12, 2016.

According to Ridwan, Djami Rotui is the mastermind of the sale of state assets, such as sagaret building which was confiscated from graft suspect Andy Woworuntu. “This prosecutor is the brain of sales of assets that have been confiscated by the state,” he said.

Besides Djami Rotui, the AGO has also named Paul Watang as suspect in the same case. Paul bought state assets sold by Djami Rotui.

State losses in this case are estimated at Rp5 billion. However, the AGO is still requesting the NTT Development Finance Comptroller to calculate state losses.

In this case, the sold assets were those that have been auctioned for twice but failed, so the suspect submitted a letter to secure the assets. The assets are in the form of warehouse and land that were sold without permission.

Djami Routi had refused to be picked up to NTT AGO office because he said he was sick. However, the AGO forcibly picked up the suspect to be investigated.
