30 Fishermen Suspected of Illegal Fishing in NTT

TEMPO.CO Kupang The East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Regional Police have arrested 24 fisherman boats committing illegal fishing in the waters of NTT throughout 2015. “We’ve managed to apprehend 24 boats for illegal fishing,” NTT Regional Police Chief Brigadier General Endang Sunjaya said Monday, January 11.
30 fishermen from the 24 boats have been set as suspects, while three cases are still under investigation. “Two other cases have been handed to NTT Fishery Department,” said Endang.
From the case, Endang said, 12 cases have been completed or P21, one case is P19, and six cases that are pro justitia.
Other cases are the apprehension of two boats committing illegal fishing including MV Rafindo and MV Terang Jaya 88.
