TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Legal and Human Rights Ministry will transfer money laundering and illegal logging convict Labora Sitorus to Cipinang Penitentiary. The transfer is scheduled to take place after the simultaneous regional election next December.
Legal and Human Rights Minister Yasonna Laoly said that Labora employs many people and receive back up from a group of people. "We must act carefully because there is a group of people [who supports Labora]," Yasonna said.
The Minister added that Labora is welcome to take legal measures if he disagreed with the court's decision "instead of repeatedly saying 'I had better died than being administered [to a penitentiary].'"
The Supreme Court had imposed 15 years of imprisonment for Labora for committing illegal logging, illegally hoarding fuel, and money laundering.
