Gojek`s Office Attacked by Gunmen

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Online motorcycle taxi Gojek’s office at Jalan Kemang Selatan 8, Mampang Prapatan, South Jakarta, was shot by unknown gunmen. The Mampang Prapatan Sub-precinct Police seized projectiles found in front of the office’s entrance as evidence.


Mampang Prapatan Sub-precinct Police chief Comr. Priyo Utomo Teguh said that there were two suspects involved in the incident.


“Both suspects were on a white Honda Beat,” Priyo said in a text message on Sunday, November 01, 2015, adding that the driver was wearing an orange jacket and a white helmet, while the passenger was wearing Real Madrid jacket.


According to Priyo, Police had questioned witness Agus Rukmana, a security officer at Gojek’s office. Agus said that the two suspects came from Antasari to Kemang Raya. The motorcycle stopped in front of Gojek’s office. When Agus asked their destination, one of the suspects took a gun and fired at the office.


Priyo said there was no casualty during the incident.


“The gunfire only causes broken glasses in front of Gojek’s office,” Priyo added.


Priyo revealed that he would as help from the South Jakarta Precinct Police to track down the suspects.


“We will work with the [South Jakarta] Precinct Police to investigate the incident,” Priyo said.
