TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State Owned Enterprises Minister Rini Soemarno said that construction of the express train project will start this week. "I hope to receive the final agreement this week," Rini said on Monday, October 5, 2015.

Rini said that a domestic consortium, which consists of PT Wijaya Karya, PT Kereta Api Indonesia, PT Jasa Marga, and the National Plantation Company 8 (PTPTN), will cover 60 percent of the project's budget and China will cover the other 40 percent.

According to Rini, most of the project's construction work will be carried out by state-owned enterprises.

The express train project, which was approved by Minister Rini single-handedly, is said not to use any fund from the State Budget. Rini said that funds for the project would come from banking debt.
