TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Creative Economy Agency (Bekraf) is preparing a cheap credit scheme to mobilize creative economy. According to Bekraf chief Triawan Munaf, the amount of disbursed funds are in trillions of rupiahs.

The funds will help creative economic players in developing their creativity and businesses. “We will launch this in early 2016,” said Triawan on Tuesday.

Triawan gave example on a Chinese filmed titled Monster Hunt that needed around Rp900 for its production. Therefore, the funds for creative industries need a much larger amount of funds than Rp1 trillion.

According to Triawan, Vice President Jusuf Kalla, Bekraf and three state-owned banks such as BNI, Bank Mandiri and BRI have discussed this credit disbursement plan. The funds can come from the state budget and are disbursed by state banks for creative economic players.

Triawan further said creative economic players that can apply for credit are musicians, filmmakers and digital application makers.

Triawan continued that credits for the creative industries have long been disbursed in ASEAN countries such as Malaysia.
