TransJakarta Bus Operator Demands Better Bus Lanes

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Operational Director of PT Trans Batavia, Trans Batavia, one of the companies in a consortium that supplies buses for the Jakarta bus way, Jabes Sihombing hoped that special lanes for TransJakarta buses would be repaired and improved because bumpy and bad lanes would make the buses break down faster.
“If the buses break down, it will bring impacts to passengers,” he said to Tempo on Friday (4/9).
For the record, Trans Batavia has been one of the operators of TransJakarta buses since 2006 by operating 126 unit bus Daewoo buses made in South Korea.
From the number, 66 buses operate at Corridor II (serving Pulogadung – Kalideres route) and 26 of them are currently being retired after they broke down.
Jabes went on to say that buses that broke down because of the bad lane would give burden to other buses as they have to accommodate more passengers than the required capacity.
