TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Outgoing Head of Criminal Investigation (Bareskrim) Commissioner General Budi Waseso does not mind his dismissal as Bareskrim chief, he told Tempo early Friday, September 4. Budi says that as a police officer, he is ready to be posted anywhere based on President Joko Widodo or National Police Chief Badrodin Haiti’s order.

Budi Waseso was rotated from his current postion to become Chief of National Narcotics Agency (BNN). He will be replaced by the current BNN Chief Commissioner General Anang Iskandar.

Budi has acknowledged the news orally from President Joko Widodo, but has yet received a decree from the President regarding the rotation and do not know when the handover of the position will be held.

Budi said his inauguration is set by the President. His new post as the number one person in BNN is an honor for him and vows to do his best. “If I become BNN Chief, I will directly be under the President,” he said.

Commissioner General Budi Waseso was relieved from his position as Bareskrim Chief for allegedly creating a scene, thus worsening the Indonesian economy. One of them was conducting a raid to the office of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia II CEO Richard Joost Lino and Pertamina Foundation.
