TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia’s men’s double ace Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan is seeking to win the 2015 TOTAL BWF World Championship at home country. The tournament kicks off tomorrow, August 10 and last until August 16 at Gelora Bung Karno, Senayan, Jakarta.

“I want to win it. There will be no world championship next year because of the Olympics. Moreover, I have never won world champion title in Indonesia,” Hendra said as quoted by Badminton.org.

The draw on Friday has put Hendra/Ahsan on the upper pool as the third seed alongside first seed Lee Yong Dae/Yoo Yeon Seong from South Korea and fifth seed Fu Haifeng/Zhang Nan from China.

“We want to stay focus on each match. In the 16 round we will meet the Japanese (Kenta Kazuno/Kazuzhi Yamada). They are pretty good pair. After that, there are representatives from Denmark and Taiwan which also good,” Hendra commented on the draw result.

“There is a burden as a host. But no pressure. Preparation has so far been maximum, now it’s how to play on the field that matter. We have yet further discussions about strategy with the coach."

Hendra/Ahsan’s coach Herry Iman Pierngadi said the pair has a good chance for Monday’s match.
