Ahsan/Hendra Join Owi/Butet in Wuhan Final

TEMPO.CO, Wuhan - Indonesian men’s double badminton player Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan join compatriot Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana natsir in the Badminton Asia Championship 2015 final later today, Sunday April 26. Ahsan/Hendra survived tough battle against host-nation athletes Cai Yun/Lu Kai 21-12 18-21 21-16, di Wuhan Sports Center Gymnasium on Saturday.


“From the beginning we knew that they won’t make it easy for us and we were ready to get sweat out on the court,” Hedra said as quoted by Badmintonindonesia.org on Saturday.


In final, Ahsan/Hendra will face world’s number one Lee Yong Dae/Yoo Yeon Seong of South Korea. Ahsan/Hendra won over the South Korean in their last encounter in 2015 Malaysia Open and snatched the champion title. However, Yong Dae/Yeon Seon is superior on the statistic with five recorded winning over the Indonesian in total of eight encounters.


Owi/Butet, who are scheduled to play before Ahsan/Hendra at the final today, will face Chun Hei Reginald Lee/Hoi Wah Chau from Hongkong. Owi/Butet won the last two encounters with Chun/Chau.
