TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta City's Transportation Department begins to review the policy which stated that tour bus is allowed to pass on Transjakarta bus lane, Antara News reported.

Head of City Transportation Sub-Department Office (Dishubtrans), Benjamin Bukit, stated that his agency already know about the governor’s demand to allow tour buses to pass on the Transjakarta lane. It is aimed to accelerate tourist’s trip. “ Will be reviewed and discussed with Mr. Kosasih (The Director of Transjakarta),” he said at City Hall on Monday.

Furthermore, it needed some kind of regulation to realize the plan due to the existing regulation that stated only Transjakarta buses and several operational vehicles (fire truck and ambulance) that are allowed to pass on that special lane. “While the authority belongs to Transjakarta. It will be implemented after reviewing the regulation,” he uttered.

In the other hand, the Director of PT Transjakarta, Antonius Kokasih, expressed that his agency continues to coordinate along with transportation sub-department office to realize the policy. Kosasih ensured it will not interfere with Transjakarta buses’ operational hours. Later, the whole tour bus fleet is allowed to pass on the bus lane,” he said.

As reported previously, Jakarta Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama had asked the transportation sub-department office to issue a circular letter which stated that tour buses are allowed to pass on the Transjakarta lane.
