Two Law Enforcers Killed in Aceh during Drug Case Investigation

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Major General M. Fuad Basya, Chief of Central Information Armed Forces, said that the authorities of Aceh Regional Police, assisted by the Regional Military Command (Kodam) Iskandar Muda, continue to conduct investigations in pursuit of the perpetrator of two murdered intelligent members of North Aceh’s District Military Command (Kodim).


Fuad said that the armed forces has obtained some evidences that leads to the perpetrator. “Intelligent data that we have obtained mentioned a drug connection to the case,”Fuad told Tempo on Monday, March 30.


Fuad also said that both victims, First Sergeant Indra and Second Sergeant Hendrianto, were seeking information on the whereabouts of a cannabis field in northern Aceh, and had once scorched three cannabis fields in the region.


Previously, Indra and Hendrianto were discovered dead in Alue Mbang Flat, Nisam Antara subdistrict in northern Aceh. Both died in horrible conditions. They were tied up and almost naked.


Brigadier General Wuryanto, the Chief of Army Information Department, said that twelve AK-47 bullet shells and three M-16 bullet shells were discovered near the bodies. The two reportedly were abducted by armed men before slaughtered.
