TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Director of Undercover Drug Investigation of the Jakarta Metro Police Sr. Comissioner Eko Daniyanto, said that the police cannot just walk in to a university for a drug operation. Therefore, Eko asked universities to help facilitate the police for such operation. "If [universities] ask, we will [investigate]," said Eko.

Eko made his statement following the discovery of two kilograms of marijuana, a few grams of methamphetamine, and dozens of extacy pills at the Indonesian Christian University (UKI) in Salemba, Central Jakarta. The police confiscated the drugs after running a search at the university. "It was not a raid. We came as requested," Eko explained.

Chief of the Narcotics Division at the Central Jakarta Metro Police Senior Commissioner J.R. Sitinjak, claimed that they have detained four UKI alumni in relation to the discovery. They are AHB (37), IBA (30), RJ (30), and EKL (48). AHB and IBA claimed to work as lawyers, while RJ is a labor and EKL is unemployed.
