Senin, 24 November 2014 16:46 WIB
TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - Surabaya Tram development will be the first tram reactivation in Indonesia. Director of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Edi Sukmoro said that reactivation is a term commonly used for train. "Tram reactivation is a new thing in Surabaya," Edi told the press.
He added that reactivation is not a difficult thing to achieve as there has been 17 kilometers of track. PT KAI will then act as an operator and the Transportation Ministry will proceed with the development.
Edi is yet to confirm when the project is to commence, only hinting that next year is already a go from the ministry. Moreover, Agus Imam Sonhaji from Surabaya city administration claimed that they are already at the same page, therefore discussion can proceed to technical details.
