Police Examines Pakubuwono XIII in Relation to Trafficking

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Sukoharjo Police have investigated Pakubuwono XIII (PB XIII) of the Surakarta Royal Palace as a witness in human trafficking case. However, police have yet to scratch for details due to Pakubuwono's medical condition.
Sukoharjo Chief of Police Senior Commissioner Andy Rifai, said that the investigation took place on Saturday in the royal palace. "Witness has a limited verbal ability," said Andy. "The condition matches the medical record delivered by his lawyer."
PB XIII served as a witness in human trafficking case. Watik, the prime suspect claimed to have sold a 16-year-old victim to PB XIII. The victim was sexually abused, resulting in her pregnancy.
Asri Purwanti, the victim's representative regrets the fact that police came to investigate PB XIII in his residence. On the other hand, the victim was asked to come to the station for the investigation. "We are under the impression that the police give PB XIII a privilege," Asri said.
